If you can schedule some time & want to see what other areas are like in Louisiana (yet close to New Orleans), come to St. Tammany Parish. It's beautiful. Even the horticulture is different on the north side of Lake Pontchartrain. Cross the Causeway's 24-mile bridge over the lake from Metairie to Mandeville.

For no further away than it is from New Orleans, it is a totally different world all to itself. Absolutely beautiful scenery, and a huge array of wildlife. We highly recommend this!

This is our #1 choice for an old-fashioned good time fair in Louisiana. Like it or not, it is held in a dry town, so don't expect to find them serving beer. But the environment is beautiful, and they've got more rides than any fair held in the state. They've also got FREE big-name country entertainment, a rodeo & 4-H exhibits. This event provides a good time for all!

New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival The second largest jazz festival in the world. (Folks always ask which is #1 - don't ask - if it's not New Orleans, we don't much care.) This is the next best thing to Mardi Gras & it attracts people from all over the world. And it's not just for jazz lovers - we have all types of music, food, arts & crafts. Check it out!

If you like to get out & enjoy the beautiful natural environment we have to offer, take a look at this!
